Doubletake Images is a world-leader in graphic innovation, which is probably why Disney commissioned us to produce a series of three dozen large scale displays throughout their parks. Now Doubletake Images has come up with something quite remarkable. The world's first invisible mosaics.
Constructed with a combination of plastic and polarizing materials, they appear totally transparent to the naked eye but when the viewer dons ordinary polarizing sunglasses, the mosaics explode with color and reveal their hidden images.
But that's not all. Doubletake Images has also constructed the word's first dual-polarized mosaic. If two people are viewing the same mosaic (but one is unknowingly wearing polarizers with a slightly different orientation), both people will see completely different images.
These hand-made, eye-opening artworks are perfect for introducing people to the dynamics of polarization in science museums or in classrooms.
